Out with the old and in with the new

When was the last time you cleaned out your closet? I’m a shopaholic, and the bad part about that is, I have tons of clothes that I forget to wear. If you really want to get organized, then you have to get rid of the old clothes and items that you no longer need. Search through your closet and clear out clothes that no longer fit. Take a look around your room to see if there’s anything that needs to be thrown away.

Use corner space

Every room has corners. If you have a small bedroom, then you need to utilize every square space. Don’t leave the corners of your bedroom empty when you can use them for storage space. You can install corner shelves for some extra wall storage.

Mount baskets to the wall

I have a few pictures hanging up in my room, but I still have a lot of empty wall space. Another way to create wall storage in your bedroom is to mount baskets to the wall. Use command hooks or command strips to mount the baskets to the wall. This can be an easy and convenient way to store things like accessories, phone chargers, makeup, and everything else.

Control the chaos in your dresser drawers

I must admit that I don’t always fold my clothes before I place them in my dresser. And because of this my dresser drawers always end up in a jumbled mess. The easiest way to get your dresser drawers under control is to completely empty them out. Take all of the clothes out and dump them on the bed. Sort through the clothes and separate what you want to keep from the clothes that you no longer want.

Keep a blanket basket

We all have throw pillows that we keep on our bed for decoration. And when it’s time for bed, it’s easy to just throw them on the floor until the next morning. A good way to keep your throw pillows and extra blankets organized when you’re not using them is to put them in a large wicker basket. Keep the wicker basket at the foot of your bed for convenience.

Clear off your nightstand

If you find yourself piling things up on your nightstand, just know that you’re not alone. It’s easy to clutter your nightstand with things like books, phone chargers, eyeglasses, and jewelry. Having a cluttered nightstand makes your room look junky. Organize your nightstand by clearing off the surface top of the nightstand. Also, make sure you clean out the drawers if your nightstand has them! Like always, keep the items that truly need and find a new place for the other items.

Keeping your bedroom organized is easier than you think. Just be sure to always pick up after yourself and put things back in their designated spot. If you have any bedroom organizing tips that you would like to share with me, tell me about them in the comment section below.
